The Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group is presenting the Draft Blunsdon East Neighbourhood Plan (BENP) for Regulation 14 Consultation. The Consultation will begin on 4th May 2019 and last for 6 weeks until 15th June 2019.

The Steering Group will present the Plan to the public in the Village Hall in Blunsdon on Saturday 4th May from 10am to 4pm and on Wednesday 8th May between 4pm and 9pm.

Don't suffer a cold home

Living in a cold home can be bad for your health. Consistently low temperatures in your home may exacerbate existing health issues (particularly respiratory and cardiovascular conditions) and make it harder for you to recover from illnesses. It can cause you and your family to feel miserable at home, affecting concentration, dexterity and mental health.
Swindon Borough Council has been working to address these issues and make it easier for people struggling to heat their home to a healthy, comfortable temperature to access free advice and support.

An Open Office will be held on Tuesday and Thursday Mornings from 10.00 am to 12.30 when residents are welcome to drop in to speak with the Clerk.

Public Meeting Wednesday 14th September - North Swindon Parish Boundary Changes

People living in North Swindon are being asked to attend a public meeting next week to discuss the proposed split of Blunsdon St Andrew Parish Council into two separate parished areas.

Under Swindon Council’s proposals to parish the entire borough, a new St Andrew’s Ridge Parish Council could be formed that would see the existing Blunsdon St Andrew Parish Council no longer covering the newly built North Swindon area within its boundaries, with the A419 serving as the dividing line.

The proposed new parish council covers a significant urban area: Abbey Meads, St Andrew’s Ridge, Ash Brake, Groundwell West and Redhouse.

There have been some recent changes in the office at Blunsdon St Andrew Parish Council. Rachel Smith long standing Parish Clerk has changed roles and is now the Responsible Financial Officer for the Parish Council. The role of Parish Clerk is now held by Tracey Judd.

Thames Water to take on the responsibility of 4,000 sewage pumping stations from property owners and managers
Utility will take over electricity and maintenance costs under new legislation, potentially saving customers thousands of pounds
Firm appeals for help tracking 1,800 ‘missing’ stations

Thames Water is appealing to customers to help identify privately owned sewage pumping stations.

The utility, which serves 15 million customers across London and the Thames Valley, will take responsibility for around 4,000 pumping in October 2016, but needs to track down 1,800 currently off its radar.
