Formal Notice: Borough Council Elections – May 2026
Swindon Borough Council has today published the Notice of Election for all Borough Council wards ahead of the elections scheduled for Thursday 7 May 2026.
Blunsdon Ward – Seats Available
The Notice confirms that One councillor is to be elected for the Blunsdon ward.

Key Information from the Official Notice
Nomination Process
- Nomination papers must be hand‑delivered to the Returning Officer at Room 11, Civic Offices, Euclid Street, Swindon, SN1 2JH.
- Papers can be submitted between 10am and 4pm on working days.
- The deadline for submission is 4pm on Thursday 9 April 2026.
Polling Day
- If an election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday 7 May 2026.
Voter Registration & Voting Arrangements
The Notice also sets out statutory deadlines for:
- Registering to vote – by 20 April 2026
- Postal vote applications – by 21 April 2026
- Proxy vote applications – by 28 April 2026
- Voter Authority Certificates – by 28 April 2026
