Formal Notice: Parish Council Elections – May 2026

Swindon Borough Council has today published the Notice of Election for all parish councils across the borough, including Blunsdon.

Blunsdon Parish – Seats Available

The Notice confirms that Ten councillors are to be elected for Blunsdon ward.
 
Residents who are interested in standing for election or supporting the democratic process are encouraged to read the full notice attached.

Key Information from the Official Notice

Nomination Process

  • Nomination papers must be hand‑delivered to the Returning Officer at Room 11, Civic Offices, Euclid Street, Swindon, SN1 2JH, between 10am and 4pm on working days.
  • The deadline for submission is 4pm on Thursday 9 April 2026.
     

Polling Day

  • If an election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday 7 May 2026.
     

Voter Registration & Voting Arrangements

The notice also includes statutory deadlines for:
  • Registering to vote (by 20 April 2026)
  • Applying for postal votes (by 21 April 2026)
  • Applying for proxy votes (by 28 April 2026)
  • Applying for a Voter Authority Certificate (by 28 April 2026)
These deadlines ensure residents have the correct documentation to vote.
