Public Consultation Event Kingsdown, Swindon - 6th April 2017

The Proposals

Land at Kingsdown (East of the A419) is allocated for a new mixed-use development including 1,650 dwellings in the adopted Swindon Borough Local Plan 2026 (Policy NC5). Persimmon Homes and Primegate Properties are working in collaboration to prepare an Outline planning application for the development of the allocated site.

Consultation event

Persimmon Homes and Primegate Properties are holding a public drop-in session to present initial proposals for the allocation. The planning team and engineering consultants will be available to discuss the site and receive feedback on the development proposals.

Benefits of the proposals
  •  A range of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom properties which will help meet identified local housing need
  •  A significant number of affordable homes (30% of the scheme), which will comprise a mix of rented and shared ownership properties designed to meet housing needs not currently met by the open market
  •  A primary road through the site and a new vehicular bridge across the A419 to connect to the Swindon urban area
  •  Enhancement of Bydemill Brook and substantial areas of green open space and landscaping around Broad Blunsdon and Broadbrush
  •  New and improved pedestrian, cycle and bus links
  •  A new primary school and mixed use Local Centre

Your feedback

The developers are seeking to establish the views of the local community on our proposal in order to inform a Outline planning application which will be submitted to Swindon Borough Council this summer.

For those unable to attend the consultation event, the exhibition boards will be made available online at: sites.google.com/site/kingsdownswindon

If you would like to comment on the proposals, please write to us by Sunday 30 April 2017.

Comments can be emailed to: wessconsultation@persimmonhomes.com or posted to: Land Department, Persimmon Homes (Wessex) Ltd, Verona House, Tetbury Hill, Malmesbury, Wiltshire, SN16 9JR

This pre-application community consultation is in addition to the normal consultation exercise which will be undertaken by Swindon Borough Council once the formal planning application is submitted.
